This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes the use and disclosure of personal information that may be collected on imaginesd.org (the “Site”).  The Policy explains the types of information that the Site may collect from you or that you may provide.  It does not apply to information you provide third-party websites or software applications.

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to this Policy, and are accepting the practices described in the Policy.  If you use the Site, you consent to the application of this Policy to the collection, storage, use, and disclosure of all your personal and other information as described.

Children under the Age of 13

The Site requires users to be age 18 or older and does not knowingly solicit any information from children under age 18.  If you are under 13, do not use the Site.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with the Site, the Site may collect personal information.  For example, if you make a Submission we may collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, general contact information, your business or employer name and title and other identifiers.  The Site may also collect other personal information regarding your interaction with the Site, including usage information, your device’s internet protocol address, and your geographic location.

How We Collect Your Information

The Site may collect your personal information you manually provide when you use the Site.  For example, the Site may collect your personal information when you:

  • Make a Submission providing your name, e-mail, and general contact information
  • Request an appointment, literature, or services
  • Use Contact Us or email info@imaginesd.org with questions or feedback
  • Interact with the Site or Research Park social media account

There are also instances where the Site automatically receives and collects personal information from you.  The most common sources of this information include:

Information Sent By Your Web Browser

The Site collects information that is sent to it automatically by your web browser.  This information typically includes the name of the domain and host from which you access the Internet; the IP address of the device you are using; the date and time you access the Site; the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to the Site; and the pages you visit.  The information the Site receives depends on the settings on your web browser.  Please check your browser to determine the setting best for you.  Generally, the information your web browser sends the Site is not, in and of itself, personally identifiable.  However, it may be combined with other information that does identify you.

Cookies

The Site may use “cookies” to collect information.  This is done so that the Site can improve user’s experience.  Cookies are small files that are placed in your browser to collect information about your activities on the Site.  The Site may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Collect information about the way you use the Site, including the pages you visit, the links you use, and how long you stay on each page
  • Support the functionality of the Site, for example, remembering information you type

User Generated Content on the Site

You may choose to submit User-Generated Content (“UGC”) on or through the Site.  UGC refers to any Submission you make, as well as the information that you post using the social networking tools available with respect to the Site and the Research Park.  Any personal information contained in UGC can be read, collected, or used by others.  You should have no expectation of privacy with respect to UGC you submit on or through the Site.

Third Party Analytics

We may work with authorized third party service providers, including, Google Analytics, to help better understand how you use the Site.  These third party service providers may place cookies in your browser to collect information, such as how you were referred to the Site, how you navigate the Site, what pages you visit.  To disable the Google Analytics cookie and other third party analytics service provider cookies, you can chose to have your browser notify you when cookies are being written to your computer or accessed, or you can disable cookies entirely.

How We Use Your Information

The Site uses personal information to provide you with effective service and to administer its mission to connect third parties who desire to collaborate or invest with you.  Generally, the Site uses information it collects to:

  • Provide you with information requested
  • Provide you with feedback on your pitch, pitchdeck, and/or related materials
  • Allow third parties who desire to collaborate or invest to contact you by email
  • Contact you with information and notices related to your use of the Site
  • Improve the Site’s content, layout, and information
  • Contact you about networking events or informational events
  • To invite business leaders, venture capitalists, or similar individuals for presentations
  • To share with others as described in this Policy

The Site may ask you to provide us with information regarding your personal interests and experience to customize our services and provide better information to you and others.

How We Share Your Information

The Site does not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.  The Site may share your personal information with third parties as follows:

With Intended Recipients

The Site will make information available to Research Park officers, employees or agents (“Staff”), an Entrepreneurial Advisory Board of volunteer entrepreneurs and industry experts, and possibly third party investors (each of whom is a “Recipient”).   The provisions of information is designed to allow these third parties to offer assistance, propose collaborations or express potential interest in investing.  You are solely responsible for evaluating offers and proposals and complying with applicable laws.

With Third-Party Service Providers and Social Media Platforms

The Site stores personal information in a secure cloud account and may share general information with third-party vendors who aggregate and analyze data.  The Site may provide functionality allowing you to post to third-party social media platforms such as Facebook or Twitter.  If you choose to take advantage of this functionality, you may transfer personal information to the third-party platform, which is governed by its own Privacy Policy.

As Required by Law and to Protect Rights

The Site may disclose your personal information when it has a good faith belief that disclosure is appropriate to comply with the law, a court order, or a subpoena.  The Site also may disclose your personal information to enforce or apply the terms of our Terms of Use or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Recipients.

As Part of a Merger or Acquisition

Personal information may be transferred to successor organization if, for example, ownership or operation of the Site is transferred to another organization.  If such a transfer occurs, the successor organization’s use of your personal information will still be subject to this Policy.

How We Protect Your Information

The Site takes reasonable precautions to safeguard your personal information and to prevent unauthorized access and disclosure.  Personal information is stored in cloud storage with a reputable provider.  Additionally, the Site uses industry-standard technology, such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology in the transmissions of certain personal information, designed to prevent unauthorized persons from gaining access to your personal information.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you.  If you have chosen a password to access certain parts of the Site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential.  The Site asks you not to share your password with anyone.

Ultimately, the transmission and storage of information via the Internet is not completely secure.   Even though reasonable efforts are made to secure your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to its Site.

Retention of Personal Information

The Site retains the personal information collected as long as necessary to provide information you request, seek a potential collaboration, or as permitted by applicable law.

 Consent and Changes to Policy

We may update or revise this Policy.  When a change is made, the “last updated” date at the beginning of the Policy will change.  Please check for updates as continued use of Site constitutes your consent to the Policy with any updates.

Information Collected From Outside the United States

If you are visiting the Site from outside the United States and provide any personal information, please note that your personal information may be transferred, stored, and processed within the United States.  If you are located in a country outside the United States, by using this Site, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.
